Fundamental Rights Agency
On the 1st March 2007, the European Monitoring center on racism and xenophia (EUMC) became the European Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA).
The Regulation establishing the Agency specifies that its tasks will be to provide information and data on fundamental rights in the EU member states in the implementation of EU law.
The scope of the Agency concerns the respect of the European Convention of Human rights and the Charter on Fundamental Rights in the application of community law.
The management board of the Agency is constituted of members from national level, two representatives of the Commission, one representative from the Council of Europe. View list here.
On request of European Parliament the Agency conducted a study on homophobia and discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity. Please find below more information about the study.
