Hate crime
In this section you can read about how ILGA-Europe works to fight hate crime, define hate crime and violence and you can find ressources and links to relevant websites.
Violence against LGBT people becomes visible at least once a year, during the Pride Season, when events are at risk of being banned, and when attacks too often target participants of Pride events.
However, violence is also a part of the day-to-day life of many LGBT persons in Europe and in the world. The reported number of homophobic and transphobic attacks is increasing, regardless of the global legal context of the countries.
Challenging hate crime
In 2008, ILGA-Europe started to work on a project targeting hate crime and violence. Read more here about the project
