On 1-3 October 2012 ILGA-Europe organised a study visit to Council of Europe institutions for 5 LGBT activists from Turkey.
On 14-16 September 2012, ILGA-Europe organised a strategic advocacy planning training for its members from different parts of Europe in Budapest.
On 2 July 2012, ILGA-Europe organised a protest action against the proposed law in Ukraine to ban ‘homosexual propaganda’ outside the Ukrainian Mission to the European Union.
On 14-16 June 2012 ILGA-Europe organised 3rd Solidarity and Networking Meeting in Istanbul, Turkey which hosted around 30 participants from Albania, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Malta and Turkey. This year’s event included a 2 day interactive training on Advocacy and a one day session on Hate crimes –legal framework and documentation.
On 23-25 May 2012 ILGA-Europe organised a study visit to EU institutions for 9 LGBT activists from Western Balkans and Turkey.
The Annual Review of the Human Rights Situation of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex People in Europe 2011 and the updated Rainbow Europe map and index were launched on the 15 May 2012 at a launch event in Brussels.
On 27 and 28 March, ILGA-Europe conducted a training session on Human Rights Violations Documentation and Advocacy with Step Up project’s partner organisation in Bosnia & Herzegovina - Sarajevo Open Centre.
On 23 and 24 March ILGA-Europe supported the team of Alliance Against LGBT Discrimination (Aleanca)-LGBT organisation based in Tirana, Albania- to devise their 3 year organisational Strategic Plan. Aleanca is a member of ILGA-Europe and partner in Step Up project.
Training on Monitoring implementation of the Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers Recommendation on LGBT rights, Brussels, February 2012
On the 3-6 February 2012, ILGA-Europe hosted a four-day training on Monitoring implementation of the Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers Recommendation on LGBT rights in Brussels for 20 participants from 18 countries.
On 24 & 25 January 2012, the European Parliament’s Intergroup on LGBT Rights together with ILGA-Europe hold the Be Bothered! event in the European Parliament. During these two full days an information stand marked the mid-term of the current legislature of the European Parliament. It will review the commitments and actions taken by MEPs to advance and protect the human rights of LGBT people, and it will highlight the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. A cocktail reception took place in the evening of the 25 January, where the President of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz adresses the guests and signed the ILGA-Europe Be Bothered Pledge.
