2nd Conference Mailing
We are excited to provide additional information on ILGA-Europe’s 2015 conference being held in Athens, Greece, from 28 until 31 October 2015. The theme of this year’s Conference, hosted by our Greek member OLKE and several other members, is Many Voices, One Movement – together, mobilised for a just society. We have reflected on the numerous issues within the movement and the challenges it can be to remain united as a fluid movement leading social change for all LGBTI people across all regions.
ILGA-Europe’s team is also proud to let you know we have already confirmed a number of inspirational keynote speakers, namely:
Thorbjørn Jagland (Council of Europe Secretary General), Elke Ferner (Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women, and Youth), Geeta Misra (Executive Director of CREA), Jessica Stern (Executive Director of IGLHRC), Mike Jackson (Founding member of Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners) and Grainne Healy (Co-Director of Yes Equality and Chairwoman of Marriage Equality Ireland).

Elections at the conference
We currently have five people on the Board who are mid-way through their two year term of office. We will therefore have elections for five people for two-year terms. .
We are calling for nominations to be made according to the guidelines. Nominations should be sent by email to the Chairing Pool.
Selection of future conference host
This year’s conference will decide on the host for the 2017 annual ILGA-Europe conference. Member organisations interested in hosting the 2017 conference must submit their proposal. Please see the “Guidelines for Member Organisations wishing to host the Annual Conference”.
Policy and constitutional debates
This year, no proposal was submitted. Please remember that, by the rules, proposals cannot be submitted at the conference (with the only exceptions contained in Standing Order 10).
