Thomas joined ILGA-Europe in January 2019 in the capacity as Google Policy Fellow for the EMEA region. Working to support the team in the area of digitalisation, Thomas is responsible for the conception and development of ILGA-Europe’s digitalisation strategy and online learning platform. His work largely concerns the areas of online learning, activist and member engagement, and digital security.
Thomas holds a BA in Philosophy from University of London, UK (2015) and a MA in Cultural Sciences from University of Gothenburg, Sweden (2017). He has completed additional educational and training courses through Columbia University, the United Nations training centre and Samaritans UK.
Prior to his engagement at ILGA-Europe, Thomas has worked for charity, government agency and multinational organisations across Europe and North America, primarily in the field of gender equality and women’s empowerment. Thomas’ engagement with LGBTI issues includes his involvement in the formation of the LGBTI Working Group at UN Women HQ (2018) and independent research for a Master thesis concerning State and NGO frameworks of support to individuals experiencing intimate partner violence in LGBTI relationship settings (2016).
